Climate mobility plan of the city of Hof

How will we move in the future?

The city of Hof wants to drive forward the transport transition in order to make a contribution to achieving climate protection targets. An important basis for this is the city of Hof's climate mobility plan. This is a comprehensive, cross-modal mobility concept. As the name suggests, the aim is to make mobility as sustainable as possible and to take climate issues into account accordingly.

The procedure

The first step is a comprehensive analysis of current traffic flows in and into the city of Hof. A needs assessment is also carried out. This may involve traffic counts and a household survey, for example. Based on this, a traffic model will be developed to help forecast future developments and their effects. These are all important foundations for the subsequent design phase. New network concepts will be drawn up here, with a particular focus on public transport. The aim here is to obtain a detailed over-planning of local transport in the city of Hof.

Current status

Following the successful application for funding as part of the National Climate Initiative (NKI), the city administration is currently preparing the tender documents. Following the Europe-wide tendering process, the extensive project is expected to start in the second quarter of 2024.

Hofer have their say

The people of Hof will have the opportunity to contribute to the climate mobility plan. On the one hand, a representative household survey will be carried out to determine needs. On the other hand, several workshops will be held during the conception phase to discuss important measures for the future. Dates and opportunities for participation will of course be communicated via this website and in the media.
