Active living in Hof

The city of Hof offers various events for citizens aged 60 and over. These include the senior carnival, senior trips and theater afternoons.

There are still a few places available for the senior citizens' trip to Selb on June 19, 2024.

Senior trips 2024

Dates: May 14, 2024 (sold out) and June 19, 2024 Departure is at 10:00 am at the parking lot of the Freiheitshalle Hof.

Program schedule: Drive to lunch at the Egerstau restaurant (those who wish can take a short walk to the nearby reservoir). Continue to Selb to the Porzellanikon with a visit/guided tour. Followed by a coffee at the Altes Brennhaus.

Date: June 26, 2024 (sold out!) Departure is at 10:00 a.m. at the parking lot of the Freiheitshalle Hof.

Program schedule: Drive to lunch at Hotel Kranich in Saalburg, continue to the Burgk Castle parking lot, walk approx. 10-15 min. to the castle, 30 min. introduction in the Knights' Hall. Afterwards you can explore the castle at your own pace. We meet together at 2:30 pm in the castle chapel for an organ recital. Afterwards there will be coffee and cake in the restaurant Schlossterasse Burgk.

ATTENTION: The senior citizens' trip to Burgk is not barrier-free! It is a 10-15 minute walk to the castle and there is no elevator in the castle. There are over 60 steps to climb in the stairwell during the tour. The sidewalk consists of historic cobblestones. There are no barrier-free WC facilities in the castle. The tour is aimed at people who are able to walk. We recommend the trip to Selb for people with disabilities.
