Integrated urban development concept
Update of the integrated urban development concept - ISEK Hof 2040
The city of Hof is currently updating the integrated urban development concept (ISEK) from 2006. The focus is on the year 2040. All areas of life are considered here in order to develop the city as a whole: Population and housing, social structure, culture, economy and trade, infrastructure, mobility, environment, green and open spaces, urban development, etc.
An ISEK describes the development of an urban area over several years and defines guiding principles, objectives, fields of action and measures. It serves as the basis for individual decisions by the city council, the acquisition of funding and the continuous review of development forecasts. The aim is to create a sustainable and high-quality living space for everyone by developing a comprehensive framework plan that takes into account all urban issues and formulates specific goals for the coming years.
The basis of the ISEK is a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and current developments, as well as forecasts, urban planning and economic data and social infrastructure. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks for the various subject areas are derived from this. The need for action and specific measures can then be developed and key projects identified for implementation.
The development team for the ISEK Hof 2040 was commissioned by the urban planning department. It began its work in May 2023 and consists of the urban and regional development office slapa & die raumplaner, GMA (Gesellschaft für Markt- und Absatzforschung) for the center and retail concept and Prof. Dr. Ulrich for the population and housing forecast. Completion of the concept is planned for mid-2025. The entire process is being carried out with the involvement of the urban community, politicians and the administration.
